Visitor
Description
Visitors are not employed and require an escort to get around the facility. Staying as this role is only recommended if you are new to the server and/or map.
Duties
- Learn about the server. (If new to the gamemode.)
- Take a tour with someone who has access to most or all of the facility. (If new to the map.)
Facility Administrator
Description
The Facility Administrator is in charge of the entire facility. He is responsible for ensuring everyone is doing their assigned duties correctly and efficiently.
Duties
- Assign tasks for people through the F1 menu.
- Ensure everyone is being productive and safe.
- Give informational tours to visitors who want one.
- Listen to the Government Man for suggestions and concerns.

- F1 Menu - This menu gives you the ability to assign either pre-made or custom tasks to various jobs. You can also reward people for completing tasks by giving them funds.
Technician
Description
Technicians are Black Mesa's IT guys. They're responsible for building and maintaining various GTerminal, PCMod, and Wiremod computer systems, as well as helping anyone who has an issue with their system. Recommended for advanced Wiremod users.
Duties
- Build computer systems using GTerminal, PCMod, and Wiremod that fit the needs of your colleagues.
- Assist your colleagues with any issues they might have related to computer systems.
- Fix computer-related facility infrastructure that might break down over time.

- PCMod Tools - The technician has exclusive access to all PCMod tools for building server networks and personal computers.
Biochemist
Description
Biochemists deal with things related to biological matter, such as aliens, their habitats, and bio weapons. They also have the strange ability of being able to communicate with alien life.
Duties
- Handle the safe storage and containment of chemicals, radioactive materials, and biological matter.
- Study organic matter collected from Xen by the survey team and use it to create new life forms.

Medic
Description
Medics are responsible for ensuring everyone in the facility is healthy and safe by healing people and charging HEV suits.
Duties
- Respond to medical emergencies to heal people.
- Setup health and armor stations around the facility so you don't have to constantly run around.

Custodian
Description
Custodians are responsible for keeping the facility clean and well-maintained.
Duties
- Extinguish any fires that may break out.
- Tidy up the facility by bagging up trash and throwing it into the trash compactor.
- Use the broom to clear unwanted decals such as blood or bullet holes.
- Repair and refuel broken down vehicles.
- Restock empty vending machines and fire extinguisher cases.
- Inspect and fix anything else that you are asked to.

Government Man
Description
The Government Man (aka G-Man) is a mysterious figure. To Black Mesa employees, he is simply there on behalf of the U.S. Government to discuss federal grants and other business matters. In reality however, he possesses immense power beyond human comprehension. He always appears to be...waiting...watching...for the right moment to...speak.
Duties
- Tour the facility looking for any problems that might disqualify Black Mesa from continuing to receive federal grants.
- Talk with your employers about certain.....events...that could take place. (F1 menu)

- F1 Menu - The F1 menu allows the government man to 'nudge' certain events, making them more likely to happen than others. Nudging will not always work, however, if the player base doesn't currently support the specified event.
Tips
- It is highly recommended that you pay attention to what is happening in the facility and nudge events based on that, instead of just picking a random one.
HECU Marine
Description
HECU Marines are highly trained members of the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, a branch of the U.S. Marine Corps that specializes in fighting in the worst conditions known to man. While the HECU regularly contracts with Black Mesa, combat personnel are only sent there under dire circumstances that put the lives of employees and/or the general public at risk.
Duties
- Protect Black Mesa from extreme hazards such as a major alien invasion, or a dangerous machinery malfunction.
- Follow orders from the HECU Captain.

HECU Captain
Description
The HECU Captain is in charge of all HECU Marines. To become HECU Captain, you must be the first person to escape the facility during the cascade.
Duties
- Give orders to your Marines to help contain whatever emergency situation led to you being called in.
- Detonate the facility with a nuclear weapon if absolutely necessary.
Abilities & Items
- Default Weapons - Battering ram, Desert Eagle, M16.
- Thermonuclear Device - Nuke that can be spawned from the HECU weapon crate found in Area 3 Security.
Weapon Specialist
Description
Weapon Specialists are members of the science team who represent the U.S. Military, specifically the HECU. They are responsible for equipping personnel with weapons as needed, and developing their own unique weapons.
Duties
- Equip the security and survey teams with any weapons they need to safely perform their duties.
- Develop unique weapons that your colleagues can use, using Wiremod and resources gathered from Xen.
- Support your fellow Marines during emergency situations where they have been called in.
Abilities & Items
- Wiremod Tools - Exclusive access to certain Wiremod tools including explosives and turrets.
- F3 Menu Items - High-powered laser emitter, Weapon Specialist crafting table, and various military weapon shipments.
Tips
- For security reasons, you should keep your weapon supplies and experimental research separated.
Security Officer
Description
Security Officers are responsible for keeping the peace, ensuring all personnel are safe, and securing restricted areas. They are equipped with a variety of tools to ensure they can always respond appropriately to any threat.
Duties
- Keep the facility safe from any threats.
- Set up checkpoints in high traffic areas so personnel have to show an ID before passing through.

Head of Security
Description
The Head of Security is in charge of all security personnel. He reports to the Facility Administrator.
Duties
- Give orders to security personnel.
- Keep the facility safe from any threats.
- Set up checkpoints in high traffic areas so personnel have to show an ID before passing through.
- Report security issues to the facility admin if you cannot fix them yourself.

Survey Member
Description
As a Survey Team member, your job is to teleport to Xen and bring crystal samples and other materials back to Black Mesa for the Biochemist to research. Your job could be highly dangerous, so work with the medic and weapon specialist to ensure you are properly equipped for the task.
Duties
- Participate in tests that require an HEV suit.
- Collect resources from Xen and give them to Biochemists and Weapon Specialists so they can craft items.

Head of Survey Team
Description
The Head of Survey Team is in charge of all survey team members. He is responsible for planning and leading trips into Xen for research and resource gathering.
Duties
- Plan and lead trips to Xen.

- Assist other survey team members with tasks as needed.
- Collect resources from Xen and give them to Biochemists and Weapon Specialists so they can craft items.
